A noble sacrifice of the Visayan region

Check out the latest Yellow Army image making the rounds (you can click on the image at right to enlarge it). Nicely done I might say. But still it doesn't count it out from my list of things that make you go "hmmmm...".

Hmmmm...

So what exactly does this image imply or mean? Let's start with regarding it at face value. The image shows the Philippine Islands as a group of black splotches on a sea of Yellow with the Visayas region distorted into what looks like the face of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino.

Hmmmm...

This brings me to an exploration of the next layer of meaning: What would Visayans think of an image of the islands with their part of its representation deliberately distorted to depict the face of a Northern Luzonian?

Hmmmm...

And the million dollar question: What exactly does distributing this image aim to achieve?

Hmmmm...

  1. Oh man, you beat me to it. I was going to post something about, "The Yellow Horde says, 'F.U., Cebu.'" I'll think of a substitute witticism, and just link back here.

  3. spot on question.

indeed, what is the point of distributing this image?

if i were to guess i'd say it is to sustain the Cory magic, which this administration badly needs to stay afloat.

whoever designed this is wasting his/her talent.

  7. this is why the nation is divided. so much disregard for correctness just to incorporate the yellow magic. the philippines is certainly not just Luzon or Manila. no graphic waiver can justify this lapse in design judgment.
